The PowerBoat Guide had this to say:
Super-popular diesel cruiser (called Bayliner 3780 Motor Yacht in 1983 to 1989) has always been seen as a lot of boat for the money. Boxy profile conceals roomy, surprisingly spacious interior with innovative mid-cabin floor-plan. Standard features include lower helm, large master stateroom, two head compartments. Big cabin windows provide panoramic outside views. Note wide side decks. Early models with 135hp cruise at 10 knots; later models 210hp Hino diesels cruise at 17-18 knots.
